Mumbai-based electronic music duo Flex Machina comprising of Feugo (Gautam Hebbar) and Purva Ashadha (Tamzid Rahman) have frequently struck gold with their mesmerizing creations and captivating live performances. And now after recently making a solid appearance on Qilla Records’ ‘Forte, Vol. 6‘ compilation with ‘Emergence‘, they have now returned to action to deliver a stunning live performance of their thrilling original, ‘Collision‘.
Highlighted by its hauntingly beautiful production, “The idea of ‘Collision’ was made 2 years back when Gautham and I first met.“, Tamzid tells us. Surprisingly enough, this track was made before Flex Machina existed to which he adds, “We had ambient versions and multiple techno versions. We experimented a lot before settling for the genre techno and our usual work process is like that. We come up with multiple versions of one idea.”
With a steady-paced start to the offering which is further driven towards an impactful, yet heady atmosphere, Flex Machina act quickly to shift gears as their signature work with modular synths proceeds to build on the hypnotic progression while an unmistakable pairing of melodic patterning and the percussion underlay sets up ‘Collision‘ for a grand finish.
