Hyderabad-based producer and beatboxer Yung.Raj has been making all the right noises within the independent music community in India over the past several months. And as the talented act continues to push forward with his solo project, he has now released his latest EP, ‘Steppin Stoned‘. Fresh off the recent drop of his ‘WaterPipe Dreams‘ EP which was unveiled back in February, Yung.Raj’s newest body of work sees him explore the realms of footwork and DnB inspired sounds as faster BPMs come into the spotlight.
Led by dance-friendly grooves, the upbeat and melodious cut ‘Light Out‘ makes up for a refreshing listen as a welcome shift in pace gives way to ‘Rose Tint‘ up next which has a delightful dose of bass to offer to its listeners alongside its loopy blend of synth-heavy goodness. On ‘Lifted‘, Yung.Raj gets to showcase a much more free-flowing side to his production abilities as glittering synths and its footwork inspired approach manages to please a whole lot of us. Towards the back end of ‘Steppin Stoned‘, Raj makes a statement with two dancefloor stompers as ‘Ruff Sound‘ and ‘Supatroopa‘ push out waves of energy with their buzzing, low-end heavy frequencies.
