2016 saw Porter Robinson release brand new music after a hiatus of 2 years, post his critically acclaimed debut studio album ‘Worlds‘ in 2014. His collaborative single with Madeon, ‘Shelter‘, released in August last year was incredibly well received and culminated into a live tour, christened the ‘Shelter Live Tour‘, across North America, Europe and Australia.
The ‘Lionhearted‘ producer took to his Twitter to reveal that he was suffering from “depression and self doubt” in 2015, which served as a major hindrance for him to create any new music. Robinson also confirmed he’ll be finishing all the projects he started in 2016, insisting that he’ll be playing very few festivals in 2017.
i really REALLY love the music i've been working on, i missed this passion a lot

you should know that self doubt and depression destroyed me in 2015. i wish i could have been making and releasing music that whole time

2016 was better because working with madeon & working on shelter the animation reminded me that i can still make stuff i'm proud of

in 2017 i'm gonna do very few festivals and be working myself to death on finishing everything i started by myself last year

Let’s just hope 2017 holds a lot of new music from Porter Robinson.
