Hands down, September turned out to be yet another packed month for music fans! While August saw some stunning releases from Calvin Harris, Travis Scott, Lifafa and more, September packed in some stellar new music by the likes of DJ Snake, Silk City, ODESZA and San Holo. Moreover, we were also treated to some real gems from homegrown talents including Paraphoniks, NDS, Debo amongst others. So without further ado, head down below and take a look at the Top 10 Releases of September 2018.

 

10. M. x Dropped Out – Kaala JaduM. Dropped Out Kaala Jadu

Kicking off this month’s countdown are long time friends M. and Dropped Out who joined forces this September to serve up their heavy duty collaboration, ‘Kaala Jadu‘. A ruthless creation which is led by its earth shattering drums and brutal kicks, the dark, heavy banger proves to be relentless in its approach as the two acts bring their A-game to the fore for a solid joint effort.

 

9. NDS feat. Evangeline – FantasizeNDS Fantasize

Earlier this September, New Delhi-based producer NDS finally came through with the release of his long awaited debut album, ‘Page IX‘. A sprawling body of work that has already secured its spot as one of the finest releases to come out of the Indian sub-continent in 2018, the 9-track effort saw the talented act showcase his exciting, bass-influenced take on electronic music. And bagging a well deserved spot on our list is the LP’s standout cut, ‘Fantasize‘ with Evangeline. A sharp, drum n bass-focused tune that oozes finesse and quality, NDS made sure to up the ante with this little masterpiece.

 

8. SEWS – DoomsdaySEWS Doomsday

Hailing from New Delhi, bass music producer SEWS served up his biggest release till date this past September with his latest record, ‘Doomsday‘. Released as part of English dubstep heavyweight FuntCase’s second ever DPMO compilation on Flux Pavilion’s legendary Circus Records, the beastly tune turned out to be a bone-crushing effort which truly knows no bounds. Not for the fainthearted, this ferocious mix is led by its terrifying mix of blistering synths and a destructive percussion work that is tailored to perfection for major dance floor damage.

 

7. ODESZA – LoyalODESZA Loyal

One of electronic music’s most loved duos, ODESZA returned to action this September following the humongous success of their latest album, ‘A Moment Apart‘ with the release of one of their most hotly anticipated IDs till date. Titled ‘Loyal‘, the ruthless new creation had long served as a highlight during their globally renowned live performances in recent years. And what truly felt like a long time coming, fans finally got their hands on this percussive-heavy monster which finds a well-deserved in our Top 10.

 

6. Debo – BIPADASANKADebo BIPADASANKA (or Bapu's World)

Hailing from Siliguri, West Bengal, rising producer Debojyoti Sanyal has always managed to catch us by surprise with his idiosyncratic take on music under his alias Debo. And come September, the 23-year old stepped up with the release of two hauntingly, dark tracks which also culminated into the making of the ‘The Bapu Trilogy’. And finding a spot in our Top 10 is Debo’s ‘BIPADASANKA‘ (or ‘Bapu’s World‘) which deep dives into the darker territories of his music as listeners are taken on a thrilling journey into Debo’s dystopian world where you get to hear a lot of chaos and tension throughout the proceedings. A stellar effort from the man himself nonetheless, Debo’s latest track stands testament to his outstanding production abilities.

 

5. Daulat, Kaleekarma & Agent – Now and ThenDaulat Now And Then

Goa-based producer Daulat has been one of the most exciting homegrown acts to watch out for in 2018. And this past month, we were treated to yet another gem of a track by the man himself as he teamed up with two fellow Indian producers Kaleekarma and AGENT for the fantastic ‘Now And Then‘. A wonderful, slow paced tune tailored to perfection for those lazy afternoons, Daulat’s latest gem arrives as the perfect new addition to his already impressive discography.

 

4. San Holo – show meSan Holo show me

Having steadily emerged out as an electronic music act to watch out for, 2018 has witnessed Dutch producer San Holo to come out all guns blazing with some of his best works till date. And this past September, we were treated to his debut album aptly titled ‘album1’ that had been a long time coming. While it was a tough task for us to pick our favourite, ‘show me‘ certainly justifies its spot on our list courtesy its heartwarming melody which packs in a hint of nostalgia for the listeners to embrace.

 

3. Paraphoniks feat. Azamaan Hoyvoy – VacillateParaphoniks Vacillate

Mumbai-based live electronic duo Paraphoniks have been steadily on the come up and pushing boundaries with their unique, innovative take on the genre that has been led by their love for analog and digital modular synthesizers. And come September, they went on to knock it out of the park with the release of their impressive new album, ‘Silhouettes‘. Making up for a truly immersive offering, the talented act find themselves on our list for the Top 10 Tracks of September 2018 with ‘Vacillate‘ featuring Azamaan Hoyvoy. A fizzy, breakbeat-influenced creation that also highlights the overall tone of their sophomore LP, Paraphoniks’ newest single shouldn’t be missed out on!

 

2. Silk City & Dua Lipa – ElectricitySilk City Electricity

Silk City might not even be a year old but Diplo and Mark Ronson‘s collaborative project is yet to put a wrong step forward. With the success of their recently released singles, the duo went on to unveil their highly anticipated single, ‘Electricity‘ with the one and only Dua Lipa this past September. A brilliant offering which brings together the best of classic house music and pop, the impressive joint effort has already go on to become one of the hottest new tunes in recent times.

 

1. DJ Snake feat. Selena Gomez, Ozuna & Cardi B – Taki TakiDJ Snake Taki Taki

Bagging the top spot for September is none other than DJ Snake‘s monstrous collaborative hit, ‘Taki Taki‘ with Cardi B, Ozuna and Selena Gomez. The certified hit boasts of a club-ready production work which draws heavily from the reggaeton and Latin pop sound. Accompanied by fiery verses courtesy Cardi B and Selena Gomez which are stitched together by Ozuna’s infectious vocal performance who also takes care of the chorus, ‘Taki Taki‘ has already begun lighting up dance floors and is set to take over airwaves in the coming days.
