Earlier this month, Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas was struck by a sniper attack which claimed 59 lives and injured more than 500 people, becoming the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history. A horrific incident which has sent shockwaves around the world, several producers from the dance music community have stepped up to do their bit and contribute to the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund.
A praiseworthy campaign which has been kicked off by Diplo following his donation of $100,000, he has challenged other DJs and hotel owners to join in and pledge towards the relief of the victims. And as his newly born movement continues to pick up pace, the fund has already received donations from the likes of Dillon Francis, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki, Valentino Khan and Kaskade. As the dance music scene continues to be an integral part of Las Vegas’ nightlife over the years, it is heartwarming to see artists and people come together and show their love and support for the city.
I donated $100,000 this weekend to the victims in Las Vegas. I challenge any other Dj’s or hotel owners to match it we owe it to the city 💛 pic.twitter.com/6LyQFEK4eA
