It’s that time of the year again! Forbes have released their annual list of the World’s Highest Paid DJs, and there are some huge surprises in store. With Calvin Harris topping the list once again for the fifth consecutive time, the Scottish heavyweight’s earnings have dipped from last year’s $63 million to $48.5 million. Coming in second is Dutch veteran Tiesto with $39 million in the bag who has managed to secure a spot in the Top 3 since the list’s inception.
The Chainsmokers make a massive debut at #3 with $38 million in earnings. Dance music mainstays including Skrillex, Diplo, Steve Aoki and David Guetta find themselves on the list yet again. But the name which might shock many is Marshmello who lands at #8 ahead of Martin Garrix and Zedd. With $21 million in the bag, the masked act’s latest feat is a reminder to his humongous popularity around the world. With the likes of Kaskade and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike who have been replaced from last year’s list, overall, the top 10 in 2017 pulled in a collective $298 million, up from $270.5 million in 2016!
