Netflix has unveiled a fresh trailer for the fourth season of The Witcher, introducing Liam Hemsworth as the new face of Geralt, a role previously portrayed by Henry Cavill.
A New Chapter Begins
In the upcoming season of The Witcher, key characters Geralt, Yennefer (played by Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (portrayed by Freya Allan) find themselves on separate quests. The series narrative hints at new alliances forming unexpectedly along their paths. “With the embrace of these newfound connections, they may finally have the opportunity to reunite permanently,” a snippet from the series’ synopsis suggests.
The fourth season of The Witcher is set to premiere on October 30 on Netflix. This season will consist of eight episodes, each roughly 50 minutes in duration. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who has led the previous three seasons, returns as the creator, showrunner, and executive producer.
New Faces Join the Adventure
This season also welcomes Laurence Fishburne, known for his role in The Matrix, who will be playing Regis, a globetrotting barber-surgeon with a secretive past. Additional new members joining the cast include Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy, Danny Woodburn, Linden Porco, Eve Ridley, and Clive Russell.
Expanding The Witcher Universe
Beyond the television series, the Witcher universe continues to expand in the gaming world. The Witcher 4 is underway, marking the first game in the series where Ciri will take the lead role. Furthermore, CD Projekt Red is overseeing a remake of the original The Witcher game, released in 2007, with Fool’s Theory developing the project under their guidance.
