The Witcher Season 4: See Liam Hemsworth As Geralt, Plus Release Date Confirmed

Netflix Unveils “The Witcher” Season 4 Teaser with New Lead

More than two years have passed since the release of season 3 of “The Witcher” on Netflix, an event that also marked the end of Henry Cavill’s tenure as the iconic Geralt of Rivia. Recently, Netflix excited fans by releasing a teaser for the upcoming fourth season of the series, which features Liam Hemsworth stepping into Geralt’s formidable boots. Alongside the teaser, the streaming service announced that the new season will premiere on October 30.

The brief preview mainly focuses on Geralt’s clash with a Wraith, showcasing the challenges he faces battling such an ethereal foe. While the teaser is sparse on details about Geralt’s allies, it’s clear that his prowess in monster-slaying remains unmatched.

Specific plot details for the new season remain under wraps, but it is known that Geralt, along with Yennefer (played by Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (portrayed by Freya Allan) find themselves on individual paths, separated from one another. Despite their current isolation, it’s expected that their stories will intertwine once again as the season progresses.

New Faces Join “The Witcher” Cast

In an exciting update, Laurence Fishburne is set to join the series in early 2024, taking on the role of Regis, a mysterious “world-wide barber-surgeon.” Fans can catch a glimpse of Fishburne in character in the new trailer. Season 4 will also introduce several other actors including Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy, Danny Woodburn, Linden Porco, Eve Ridley, and Clive Russell, enriching the already dynamic cast.

Expanding the “Witcher” Universe

Beyond the television series, “The Witcher” franchise continues to expand and thrive. The music of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” has begun its concert tour across America this month, bringing the beloved melodies of the game to live audiences. Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red is working on “The Witcher 4,” which will prominently feature Ciri as the main protagonist. Additionally, a remake of the original “The Witcher” game, released in 2007, is in development. This project is being developed by Fool’s Theory under the guidance of CD Projekt Red, promising to bring fresh life to the game that started it all.
