Fantasy Life i Is Getting Free DLC, In Response To All The Positive Reception

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Gains Traction and Free DLC

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time has been released and has quickly gained a following. In response to its warm reception, Level-5 has announced that players can look forward to free DLC, as a token of appreciation for the game’s success.

According to an announcement on Level-5’s official website, the game will soon receive free DLC. Although a specific release date for the DLC has not been disclosed, the developers have hinted at introducing new recipes and additional content designed to enhance the game’s world, as reported by Gematsu. This update will also enable players to make use of high-rarity weapons which can be found in Treasure Groves among other places.

The game was initially available for early access starting May 18 and had its global launch just a few days later on May 21. It quickly rose up the ranks on the Steam charts, attracting a diverse audience, ranging from fans of life-simulation games to longtime followers of the Fantasy Life series.

Currently, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time holds a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam, based on more than 3,000 user reviews. The early announcement of free DLC is a testament to the game’s successful launch and its growing popularity.

The success is a significant achievement for Level-5, especially following the departure of Keiji Inafune last year, who left to reevaluate and restructure the project. After his exit, the business operations of Level-5 Comcept were integrated into the main company. In a statement from March 2025, Level-5’s CEO Akihiro Hino referred to Inafune’s departure as an “unexpected challenge.”

Despite these hurdles, the success of Fantasy Life i is a promising sign for the future of Level-5’s portfolio. The company announced several upcoming titles during a Nintendo Direct in February 2023. While some of these games have already been released, others, such as the futuristic detective RPG DecaPolice and the latest entry in the Professor Layton series, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, are still under development.

As the gaming community anticipates the release of these new titles, players of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time can enjoy ongoing updates to their game.
