New Release Date for Dune: Awakening
The highly anticipated open-world survival MMO, Dune: Awakening, which draws inspiration from Frank Herbert’s famous science fiction series and the cinematic adaptations by Denis Villeneuve, has had its release pushed back to June 10, 2025.
The update was announced by Funcom, the game’s developer, who also mentioned an early access option. Fans eager to explore the dunes earlier can gain access on June 5, provided they purchase the Deluxe Edition or the Ultimate Edition of the game.
An update posted on the game’s official Twitter account detailed the delay, providing fans with a direct link to view the announcement.
Reasons Behind the Postponement
According to Funcom, the decision to delay Dune: Awakening came after careful consideration of feedback from the ongoing Persistent Closed Beta. The additional time will allow the development team to further refine the game, incorporating changes that have emerged from beta testing and community requests.
Moreover, Funcom has planned a large-scale beta testing weekend next month, which will open up opportunities for more players to experience the game and offer their insights, further aiding in its development.
While the delay may be disappointing to some fans eager to dive into the world of Dune: Awakening, Funcom is arranging a combat livestream later today. Scheduled for 12pm ET/9am PT, the livestream will provide deeper insights into the game’s PvP and PvE mechanics, as well as the different archetypes and skills players can expect.
