New Tribute Album to Neil Young Released
The Cinema Music Group and Killphonic Records have unveiled a new tribute album titled Heart of Gold: The Songs of Neil Young, Vol. 1. This collection includes 14 tracks and features Fiona Apple’s rendition of Young’s iconic 1972 track from Harvest, “Heart of Gold.” You can listen to this fresh cover version further down.
Fiona Apple not only performed the cover but also co-produced it alongside Dave Palmer. The ensemble for this recording includes Dave Palmer on the piano, Reggie Hamilton handling the bass, and Joey Waronker on drums, creating a unique interpretation of the original song.
Supporting a Noble Cause
The proceeds from Heart of Gold: The Songs of Neil Young, Vol. 1 are set to go to the Bridge School, an institution located in Hillsborough, California. This organization, co-founded by Neil Young’s late ex-wife, Pegi Young, is dedicated to assisting children who have speech and physical impairments. Fans of Neil Young can look forward to a second volume of Heart of Gold: The Songs of Neil Young, which is expected to be released soon.
