Listen to Stereolab’s New Song “Melodie Is a Wound”

Stereolab has released a new track from their upcoming album Instant Holograms on Metal Film, marking their first full-length release in 15 years. The song titled “Melodie Is a Wound” is now available for listening below.

The album Instant Holograms on Metal Film is set to launch on May 23 under the banners of Stereolab’s own label, Duophonic UHF Disks, and Warp Records. This 13-track record features the earlier unveiled song “Aerial Troubles,” which was intriguingly distributed as a cryptic 7″ vinyl single to a select group of fans prior to its official announcement. The album sees the return of founding members Tim Gane and Laetitia Sadier and includes contributions from artists such as Cooper Crain, Rob Frye, Ben LaMar Gay, Ric Elsworth, Holger Zapf, Marie Merlet, and Molly Read.

In the coming month, Stereolab will embark on a lengthy international tour. They are scheduled to perform in various cities across North America and Europe, including several festival appearances, continuing through to the year’s end.

The group’s last album, Not Music, was released in 2010. Over the past decade and more, they have reissued several of their previous records, with the latest reissue, Pulse of the Early Brain, released in 2022.
