Diplo has unarguably been one of the busiest producers in the game during the better half of the 21st century. With several collaborative projects under his belt, starting from Major Lazer and Jack Ü to his more recently launched supergroups, Silk City and LSD, Wesley Pentz continues to function like a well-oiled machine and churn out one hit after another.
But if we are to talk about the fate of his dancehall-focused trio, then the project behind humongous hits like ‘Lean On‘, ‘Cold Water‘ and ‘Know No Better‘ could be finally coming to an end. In a recent interview with Complex, the Mad Decent bossman revealed that “Next year marks our last album, so we got a lot of stuff in between now and then.”
With 2018 turning out to be yet another massive year for Diplo, having garnered success around the globe with multiple releases spanning across his solo project, Silk City and LSD, the famed act has already kick started the final phase of the Major Lazer project. Following the recent release of their Afrobeats mixtape, they are currently dishing out tracks from their upcoming Afrobeat and dancehall inspired EP which will be succeeded by their final album due out in 2019.
Moreover, Diplo also revealed that fans can expect an LSD album next year alongside also mentioning that Silk City have enough “material for an album.” And if that doesn’t seem enough, he has been also working with the likes of Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, and Lil Yachty, as well as “some dance music” that could be dropping within the next year. So hold on tight, and get ready for a ton of new music from Diplo himself in the near future.
