India’s Very Own Reggae Music Festival Goa Sunsplash Reveals Impressive Phase One Lineup For 2019 Edition

India’s largest celebration of reggae music and culture, Goa Sunsplash, has come a long way since its eventful debut back in 2016, and has successfully grown to become a much-loved fixture on the Indian festival circuit. Goa Sunsplash represents a growing awareness of reggae culture, and will celebrate its fourth edition on January 12-13, 2019 at Riva Beach Resort in Mandrem, Goa. Founded by India’s long-standing reggae act, Reggae Rajahs, the festival has now announced a stellar phase one lineup, featuring legendary artists and collectives, and up-and-coming talent.

With performances by the likes of Jamaican reggae superstar, Anthony B, who is known for his super energetic and versatile shows; Channel One Sound System from London; ZJ Liquid, who gained popularity as a radio jockey in Jamaica, and is now garnering new fans as an upcoming producer and singer; Egoless, a multi-instrumentalist turned dub and dubstep producer; Kibir La Amlak, one of the most sought after dub producers from the UK and Craig Black Eagle, who is one of Jamaica’s most popular dancers and is coming to the festival, where he will also hold a dance workshop, Goa Sunsplash will also be graced by a wide range of performances on both days with sets by Steppa Style, Forelock & Arawak, Mumbai-based reggae and hip-hop outfit Bombay Bassment, one of the most vibrant sound systems in London, Reggae Roast, Dakta Dub; Goa-based French selector Rudy Roots and the festival’s own, 10,000 Lions Sound System which will be represented by an international crew including Ninjahdread and Realoveution Hi-Fly.

At the festival, performances will be spread across three distinct spaces – Arambol Groove, the largest stage where audiences are treated to live bands and iconic performers; Lions Den – powered by the handbuilt 10,000 Lions Sound System – which will host selectors and MCs, and Mandrem Verandah, which overlooks the Arabian Sea and will see DJs keep the party going till 10pm every night.
