Avicii is finally back, and he’s sounding better than ever! After announcing his hiatus from touring back in March 2016, the Swedish superstar brought the dance music world to a stand still. While he promised fans to keep making music, his absence was felt time and again until he announced plans to deliver his best album till date in 2017.
With multiple teasers being dropped every now and then that have kept his fans on their toes over these past few months, Tim Bergling has now finally unveiled his highly awaited comeback EP. Released last night, the 6-track effort titled ‘Avīci‘ kicks off with the airy, country-influenced ‘Friend Of Mine‘. Featuring vocals by Vargas & Lagola, the track is enough to get listeners hooked right away. Next in line is ‘Lonely Together‘ with Rita Ora which stands out as one of the most impressive cuts from the entire EP. ‘You Be Love‘ with Canadian talent Billy Raffoul echoes the producer’s upbeat, progressive approach that made him one of dance music’s biggest acts in the first place.
As we enter the second half of the proceedings, the long awaited ‘Without You‘ with Sandro Cavazza finally makes an appearance. A stunning sonic treat which sounds nothing short of a testament to Tim’s musical prowess, the AlunaGeorge-assisted ‘What Would I Change It To‘ is a folk-inspired effort at its heart which is anchored spectacularly by Aluna’s signature vocals. For the final track on the EP, his own remix of Sandro Cavazza‘s ‘So Much Better‘ makes itself heard loud and clear. A club-friendly approach to the vocal-driven piece, Avicii’s latest rework oozes perfection.
A gorgeous concoction of sounds which make up his latest offering, you can stream the ‘Avīci’ EP in its entirety below. And don’t forget to grab your copy here.
