Two of bass music’s finest, KRANE and Alexander Lewis are renowned for their unique, individual takes on the genre! And while both boast of a seriously impressive catalog consisting of originals and remixes, the longtime collaborators have now joined forces for an exceptional new remix of Sinjin Hawke’s ‘Onset’.
A prime cut from the highly acclaimed producer’s debut album ‘First Opus‘, the original’s signature complex sounds get reworked into a near perfect amalgamation of the two artists’ dynamic take on the trap genre. Led by powerful horns, futuristic synths and heavy percussion, the newly released remix is an absolute treat which doesn’t fail to capture Hawke’s own effort, but also discovers new life on its own.
Talking about his latest effort, KRANE wrote in the track description:
“We were just listening to his new album, heard Onset, and realized we had to make a version of it. Random stroke of inspiration really… There’s always been this common practice of how remixers go about wanting to remix something- like its a measure of the original artist and their reputation, or how hyped up they are at the moment. I really just wanted to move away from that and hopefully do justice to something I found to be really special and different.”
