Legendary BBC Radio 1 host Pete Tong’s weekly Essential Mix has been an integral part of the electronic music industry over the past two decades. Known for inviting some of the genre’s most influential and talented acts from around the globe, the highly popular show witnessed British DJ/producer Midland deliver a stunning two-hour mix back in February.
Going up against fellow heavyweights like Âme X Dixon, Recondite, Dusky, and Leon Vynehall, Harry Agius was ultimately announced as the proud recipient of the ‘Essential Mix Of The Year‘ for 2016. Succeeding the legendary Berghain resident Ben Klock who received the top honor last year, Midland talked about his win saying:
“Not sure what to say but last night I was awarded Essential Mix of the year. Still in a state of shock really. I never worked harder on anything than I did on this. Thanks to BBC Radio 1 and the judges for this amazing honour.”
