One of the brightest minds in the electronic music industry, Mat Zo has been putting out new music frequently during the past few weeks and has presented his Smashing Pumpkins bootleg and an original Don’t Say The T Word which showcase extremely contrasting sounds. His latest move consists of 3 unreleased tracks which according to him didn’t make the cut for his album Damage Control and remained demos.
Generous enough, the genre bending pioneer is treating his fans with his unreleased work unlike other producers who at times don’t even wish to go that distance. The moment you press play on these tracks, you’ll get some obvious hints of Damage Control. Each track carrying their own flavor, “Castrated” is a heavy collaboration with Crossfaith vocalist Kenta Koie which addresses his fondness for the rock genre while “Slips Away” brings back the signature trance infused with some trippy synths making it a seminal yet euphoric track bound to make you reminisce his massive track EZ. Lastly, “Hostile Takeover” carries a strange flavor like his track “Time On Your Side”. All in all, these are three beautifully crafted tracks and is indeed a shame that they didn’t make the cut.
