Mat Zo – Damage Control [Album]

Matan Zohar aka Mat Zo, to his fans is one of the most talented, versatile & upcoming DJ/producers in dance music. His name has been ever frequently brought up in the realms of trance and progressive house, but some may not know that the 23-year-old has also dabbled in some drum n’ bass under the MRSA moniker, exhibiting his flamboyant ability to diversify his productions and branch out, rather than pigeonholing himself to one style of music. The story of his full-length debut album, ‘Damage Control’ released on Anjunabeats seems to be the same, coming at us as a plethora of surprises.

Mat Zo – Turn Up The Funk

Mat_Zo - Turn Up The Funk

Mat Zo may be outspoken, brash and abrasive but he’s a fine producer, and we love his music and his viewpoints on a lot of aspects, the man makes a ton of sense. It’s hard not to ignore an artist of such mammoth potential, and his jester-like behavior rubs off on us quite infectiously, we’d say! Bringing up the aspect of how generic electronic music sounds these days, Mat Zo spent the ‘best 3 hours’ as he put it, producing a troll worthy track titled Turn Up The Funk. Filled with similarities to nursery rhymes such as ‘baa baa black sheep‘ and ‘twinkle twinkle little star‘ to name a few, Mat Zo has also over-indulged (like many do) with the usage of bass! A hilarious listen, do check it out!

Mat Zo – Lucid Dreams (Original Mix) [Preview]

Hold on to your seats for this track has the makings of an all-time classic. Straight off Mat Zo‘s hotly anticipated album ‘Damage Control‘, comes “Lucid Dreams”, a shining, sparkling, genre-bending anthem. The track is the third single on the album, following up on the chart-topping collaboration with Porter Robinson, ‘Easy‘ and ‘Pyramid Scheme‘, featuring Public Enemy’s Chuck D, and it could very well be your favourite once the album releases.

Featuring a bass-heavy intro, an ethereal build, and massive big room synths, this is certain to be one of the tracks of the season. To top it all, Matan Zohar aka Mat Zo tosses in stunning vocals straight from the MRSA track “Recurring Dream”, which interestingly just so happens to be Zo’s prior DnB alias.

This is surely one of those songs which instantly put a smile on your face. Watch out as it officially drops October 29th, with “Damage Control” set to be available from the 5th of November.
