Anjunabeats is one label known for its phenomenal powerhouse of talent when it comes to Progressive Trance sounds. Year after year, they’ve consistently set the bench mark for melodic and expertly produced music.

One of Anjunabeats’ well established stars, Sunny Lax, is just another testament to why Anjunabeats is such a well respected label.  He’s delivered track after track of brilliantly produced music that exhibit his masterful skill in terms of production. From P.U.M.A. to Blue Bird to Hattori Hanzo to Isla Margarita and Naida, his music has always managed to hit the right cord with hardcore trance fans and club goers respectively.

Now he’s out with a brand new production, Karma, which also happened to be the Record Of The Week on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Radio last week. This is one production so magisterial it blew us right away the moment we heard it.  The production itself starts off with a hard kick drum beat and a stupendous blend of chopped vocal samples and synth work that lead right to the break down. It’s at the breakdown that a synth arpeggio takes over and hypnotically sweeps you off your feet. The serene beauty contained within that uplifting synth melody warrants nothing but for the listener to close their eyes, sit back and let the music take control of them. It’s so pristine, it had us just marvel at the effect it had on us. The melody continuous to sift through you as it progresses, along with the vocals, till it gets to the build up, and before you know it the beat kicks in, resulting in a climax that’s equally as driving as it is gracefully elegant.

It’s a production with a wondrous amalgamation of the modern more club friendly sound and the exquisite beauty of vintage uplifting progressive trance.

This gem is expected out with Anjunabeats Volume 11, and if this is anything to go by, we can’t even begin to imagine how amazing this years Anjunabeas compilation would be.
