The Saturday Night Live Shorts, known for their hilariously satirical skits, came up with a video that takes digs at the commercial EDM scene today and boy, it’s a laugh riot!
The Lonely Island trio that gave us comical music gems like ‘I Just Had Sex’ and ‘D*ck In A Box’ in the past, are back with ‘When Will The Bass Drop’, a skit that aims to summarize what really goes on at commercial EDM gigs.
The video showcases Andy Samberg as “Davincii” at the turntables, out rightly spoofing the fan-favorite DJ, Avicii and sporting a striking resemblance to him as well. The skit revolves around fans waiting for the bass to be dropped and throwing around clichéd phrases like “this is the best event of my life” as the DJ fools around, playing pre-recorded sets and getting tons of money for just that!
Apart from a few other references from Avicii’s Gallbladder problem and an ‘Indiana Jone’s one thrown in as well, the track to the video is actually pretty catchy. Watch the video for yourself below but be careful, as you might split your guts laughing!
