The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) began in 1996, and is a five-day electronic music conference and festival held annually in mid-October. The event is organized by The Amsterdam Dance Event Foundation, and tries to mix business with pleasure by offering a full program of daytime conferences along with a nighttime music festival featuring more than 300 events spread across 50 clubs in Amsterdam.
The event starts off with ADE Pro and ADE University, the Music & Bits conference program, and the DJ Cook-Off. Alongside that, ADE also now includes the awards ceremony of the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll.
The event’s latest rabbit out of the hat is ADE Playground, which started in 2011 as a “new technology” showcase, but since 2012 features pop-up events, surprise daytime appearances by top DJs, special product lines, film screenings, and special discounts in shops and bars for all the attending ravers.
The nighttime line-up has over 800 DJs and artists as well as a selection of the upcoming local and international talent, playing to more than 200,000 clubbers.
This year is very unique, as India gets a special representation. The sLick! showcase, will present some of India’s leading dance music talents at the reputed Club NL in Amsterdam. sLick! is India’s number 1 portal for underground House/Techno. This is iconic in India’s dance music history and we’re sure Europe will be wow-ed by our domestic rock stars.

For 2013, in particular, the festival agenda has turned quite a few notches higher.
