The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is possibly the world’s biggest club festival with tons & tons of DJ’s and acts performing in Amsterdam’s finest venues, cafés, record stores, lounges and art galleries. From its humble beginnings as a small-scale industry event, the ADE now hosts thousands of key professionals and a festival audience eager to hear the best that dance music has to offer. It is the world’s leading electronic music conference and the biggest club festival for the many electronic sub-genres on the planet.

The event offers a full program of daytime conferences, including interactive workshops, mentoring sessions, technical demonstrations and in-depth round-table discussions, alongside a nighttime music festival featuring more than 220 events over five days in 52 venues around the city. Each year, the ADE attracts over 3,000 business professionals and 140,000 festival visitors – including 30,000 tourists – from 62 countries.

This year’s Amsterdam Dance Event shall be even more special, as it celebrates 25 years of dance music in The Netherlands. With house music exploding in Holland at the end of 1988, it went on to become one of the world’s leading countries regarding dance music, producers and events such as ADE. As part of the 25-year milestone celebrations, the Dutch language book ‘Mary Go Wild’ which has been compiled by over 80 writers, explores the history of parties in the country as well as interviewing key industry figures of the likes of Chuckie, Fedde Le Grand, Martyn and Nicky Romero.

The event remains extremely crucial to the industry calendar till date. With a largely ‘work’ focused agenda it provides for a packed house of labels, artists and even fans looking to get stuck, in this mecca of dance music. Doorn Recordings Label Night @ Escape Club

The Doorn records head honcho, Sander van Doorn will be kicking off the ADE week in Escape. The world famous DJ who is without a doubt considered as a heavyweight on the dance music circuit and has not only proven to possess an unseen musical talent, but also technical one. Sander has become a true figurehead for his generation of artists and has been loved by his fans all over the world. Protocol Recordings Label Night @ Melkweg

Ever since its inauguration at the ADE last year, Nicky Romero’s imprint Protocol Recordings have become a leading powerhouse on the global clubbing circuit. Led by the magnificently talented imprint ringleader himself, young Romero can be seen upping the ante where this second conference showcase is concerned. Matching such established talents as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, John Dahlback and Don Diablo with new age tastemakers Martin Garrix and Vicetone, this star-studded line-up shows that the label has some increasingly sharp cards up its sleeve for the festival’s opening night. By now we know that the inaugural night of ADE certainly has no shortage of talented showcases to choose from. Now at the tail end of their tenth anniversary, family imprint and British stronghold Toolroom Records can not be accused of resting on their laurels for 2013. Having launched their Toolroom Knights concept at the conference back in 2006, the label returns armed with a host of its glorious roster for a forthright celebration of progress, success and bloody ten years of bloody good house music. Saturday is possibly the biggest night at ADE, making this pick more difficult than it may look. If you were lucky enough to attend ‘Kings of Ace’ at Bloomingdale this summer, you know what we’re talking about and If you missed it, here’s your chance to join us on an even more spectacular journey! During ADE, the ‘Kings of Ace’ will be giving fans an agency showcase. Nearly all DJs from Ace Agency’s roster will find their way to The Sand for an unforgettable experience with the likes of Afrojack, Bassjackers, Bobby Burns, Chocolate Puma, Quintino, Shermanology, Sidney Samson amongst others. Angger Dimas will come to attend the show all the way from Indonesia. It doesn’t just there though. Your hosts for the night are Ambush, MC Roga and Zawdi MC who will vocally guide the crowd. Welcome To The Future presents: Laurent Garnier @ Elementenstraat

The legendary Laurent Garnier will be making his debut at Welcome to the Future! We really can’t imagine a better way to close what shall be an already memorable edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event. Studio 80 Warehouse will be Laurent’s playground on October 20th, with support coming from another legend in, Karotte. The talented Quazar will also be there for this special occasion, making one of their rare appearances with their extravagant live set, giving the whole night some more historical significance and making it a true not-to-miss-event. The second room shall be hosted by significant Dutch acts and Studio 80 residents such as, The Man With No Shadow, Olivier Weiter and Victor Coral.
