Atlus Confirms Long-Rumored Persona 4 Remake
Following a series of not-so-secret hints and rumors, Atlus has finally confirmed the upcoming remake of Persona 4. The anticipated project has been officially announced, exciting fans of the series.
The announcement was made with a teaser trailer showcasing the early visuals of P4R: Persona 4 Revival, which will be released for Xbox, PS5, and PC. The trailer, though brief, showed glimpses of the game’s environments which have received a significant visual upgrade compared to the original game. Moreover, it has been confirmed that the game will be available on Game Pass from day one.
Shortly after the trailer’s release, Kazuhisa Wada, the director of developer P-Studio, expressed his enthusiasm about the project with several statements:
“I am thrilled to announce the release of Persona 4 Revival. We are eager to reveal more details when the time is right.”
“Persona 4 has inspired various derivative works such as a TV anime and games like Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night. It is a cherished title within Atlus and holds a special place in my heart. We are pouring our hearts and souls into this project, aiming to create something both fresh and surprising for new players as well as longtime fans.”
“Our team is also focused on the future of the Persona series. We are committed to fulfilling the high expectations of our fans worldwide, and we are making good progress. Stay tuned for further updates.”
“Your continued support for the Persona series is greatly appreciated.”
The possibility of a Persona 4 remake has been a topic of discussion among fans for some time, spurred on by newly registered domain names, comments from industry insiders, and several original voice actors hinting at their non-involvement in the then-unconfirmed remake. These hints led to various speculations and theories amongst the community.
Reflecting on the original Persona 4, we had awarded it a 9/10, citing it as a substantial improvement over its predecessors with a more immersive dungeon crawling and social link experience. Though Persona 4 Golden, an enhanced version of the game, is currently the preferred edition on modern platforms, there has been a notable demand for its release on the Nintendo Switch, a request that fans have been making for years.
This announcement not only confirms the remake but also promises an exciting future for fans of the Persona series eager to revisit the world of Persona 4 with modern enhancements.
