Moses Sumney Debuts Revamped Version of “Hey Girl”

Moses Sumney has introduced a refreshed rendition of his track “Hey Girl” from his album Sophcore. The updated release, titled “Hey Girl(s),” includes contributions from Syd, known from the group The Internet, and Meshell Ndegeocello. You can listen to the new single below.

Meshell Ndegeocello shared her thoughts on the collaboration, stating, “I was thrilled when Moses reached out to me to contribute to this track. I’m a huge admirer of his ethereal vocal talent, and this particular song resonated with me because it elevates the concept of romance into a futuristic context. It was truly fascinating to see his creative process and a privilege to be involved.”

Meshell Ndegeocello recently celebrated a significant achievement at the Grammy Awards over the weekend, where she received the award for Best Alternative Jazz Album. Remarkably, she is the sole recipient of this award to date, having also won it in 2024, the first year it was presented.
