Currently, you can organize your Pokémon squad using Planet Pokémon’s exclusive tools for four titles: Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and Pokémon Sword and Shield. We are also developing tools for additional Pokémon games!

Our Planner is game-specific, ensuring you only see Pokémon available for capture in your selected game. It includes comprehensive details like full movesets and potential held items for each Pokémon, and allows for detailed customization of EVs and IVs. This integration of features enables you to tailor your team perfectly for whatever your gameplay goals may be.
Looking to make a mark in online competitive battles? The Planner helps you construct a well-rounded team. Curious about the impact of a single Pokémon change? The Planner highlights potential vulnerabilities. Or maybe you want a team of six Magikarps? The Planner can handle that, too.
Let’s explore how it works!
Getting Started
Initiate your team planning by selecting your game from the ‘Change Game’ drop-down menu at the top of the planner.
Before proceeding, it’s crucial to log into your Pokémon Planet account to save your configurations. You can log in or sign up by clicking the ‘Login’ button at the top right corner of the page. We’ll discuss saving your team in detail later in this guide.
Adding Pokémon
After selecting your game, add Pokémon to your team by clicking on one of the six ‘Choose Pokémon’ slots, which will display all available Pokémon from that game’s Pokédex.
You can filter Pokémon by scrolling, typing their names, or by type, and even select for specific attributes like ‘Mega Pokémon’ to narrow your search to those available in your chosen game.
Once you select your Pokémon, you can start customizing each one’s moves, stats, and held item. It’s best to choose six Pokémon to fill out a full team.
Adding Stats
In the Stats section, you’ll see each Pokémon’s Base Stats and have the option to adjust their Level, EVs, and IVs.
By default, Pokémon levels are set to 100 to facilitate endgame planning, but you can adjust this according to your current gameplay. Adjusting the level will automatically update the displayed stats to match.
Enter the desired EVs and IVs, keeping in mind the total and maximum limits. The Planner will prevent you from exceeding these limits.
Adding Moves
Adding moves is straightforward: click ‘Add Move’ to pick from a list of all moves your Pokémon can learn in the selected game. You can search for moves or scroll through the list. Remember, Pokémon can only learn four moves at a time.
Adding Items
Click ‘Add Item’ to choose from a list of all items available in your game. You can search for an item or scroll through the options, then click to add it to your Pokémon.
Repeat the process for each Pokémon to complete your team.
Understanding Team Defense and Coverage
Team Defense helps identify your team’s strengths and weaknesses based on the types of Pokémon and their moves. Team Coverage shows which Pokémon types your team can effectively counter.
Saving Your Team
To save your team configurations, log into Planet Pokémon and use the ‘Manage Teams’ button to save, name, and organize your teams.
A Note on Hidden Stats
EVs and IVs are Hidden Stats not directly visible in-game. Each Pokémon has 510 EVs to distribute, with a maximum of 252 per stat. IVs range from 0 to 31, influencing how stats grow as Pokémon level up.
But Wait… There’s More
Additionally, Planet Pokémon provides extensive resources for Pokémon Legends: Z-A including a detailed Pokédex, interactive maps, and a comprehensive item database.
