Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Delayed 'Beyond Early 2026'

Today’s gaming news includes delays for not just GTA 6, but also the much-anticipated Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

Shortly after Rockstar Games revealed the postponement of GTA 6 from May to November 2026, Skydance Games also announced a delay for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, pushing its release to beyond early 2026. According to Skydance Games, this additional time is crucial to “fully realize our vision.” Importantly, they did not specify a new target release date. This represents another setback for Rise of Hydra, which had previously been rescheduled from 2025 to early 2026.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is a story-based game that includes characters like Captain America, Azzuri (the Black Panther during the 1940s), Gabriel Jones from the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy stationed in Nazi-occupied Paris.

The game first made waves in early 2024 following a striking trailer debut at Epic Games’ State of Unreal event during the Game Developers Conference. It is being developed by the team at Skydance Games, led by Hennig, formerly of Uncharted fame, and co-president Julian Beak.

Additionally, Hennig’s team at Skydance is also in the process of developing an untitled Star Wars game, details of which are yet to be announced.
