The long-awaited sequel to the renowned heist film Ocean’s 11 is officially underway. George Clooney has confirmed that “Ocean’s 14” has received the green light and is expected to begin filming next year. The film will see the return of the major stars from the 2001 hit.
Clooney expressed his excitement about reuniting with the original cast members for this new installment, which will be under the direction of David Leitch. He enthusiastically shared, “Yeah, Brad [Pitt], Matt [Damon], Don [Cheadle], and Julia [Roberts],” noting to the media outlet. “I just had dinner last night with Julia. We’ve all remained close friends. It’s going to be a lot of fun working together again.”

Clooney has previously hinted at the possibility of another Ocean’s film. During an interview with Uproxx in 2023 for his film “The Boys in the Boat,” he mentioned, “We have an excellent script for another Ocean’s movie, so we might just make another one. The script is really top-notch.”
However, he was somewhat evasive when asked if the script was specifically for “Ocean’s 14,” commenting, “Well… I don’t want to label it just yet. It’s somewhat reminiscent of ‘Going in Style.’”
Clooney was referring to the 1979 comedy heist film directed by Martin Brest, featuring George Burns, Charles Hallahan, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg, about three elderly men who come together to pull off a heist. The film was remade in 2017 by Zach Braff, known for his roles in “Scrubs” and as the director of “Garden State.”
Importantly, this upcoming “Ocean’s 14” is distinct from the previously announced prequel set in the ’60s Europe, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, directed by Jay Roach with Carrie Solomon penning the script. Details on this project are still sparse.
