Dan Levy’s enterprise, known as Not a Real Production Company, has appointed Anne-Marie McGintee as its new head of film and television.
Having served as the vice president of scripted programming at Ava DuVernay’s Array Filmworks, McGintee will now steer all development and production activities at Not a Real Production Company. She will focus on broadening the production slate under the company’s comprehensive contract with Netflix.
Not a Real Production Company’s forthcoming projects include a yet-to-be-named crime comedy series featuring Dan Levy, Taylor Ortega, and Laurie Metcalf. Additionally, an upcoming documentary on the 1990s music festival Lilith Fair is scheduled to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. The company previously launched “The Big Brunch” on Max and supported Levy’s first directorial venture, “Good Grief.”

During her tenure at Array, McGintee was responsible for the development and production of series such as “DMZ,” “Naomi,” and “Queen Sugar.” Prior to that, she was part of the original series team at Netflix, managing comprehensive deals with entities like Jenji Kohan, Sugar23, and Tribeca Productions. Her work at Netflix included contributions to series like “Orange Is the New Black,” “Maid,” “Colin in Black & White,” and “Tales of the City.”
“Anne-Marie brings a vibrant new dynamic to NARPC with her extensive background in leading creative development, production, and programming in both television and film,” Levy commented. “From the anticipated Lilith Fair documentary to our forthcoming Netflix series, she plays a crucial role in the robust and ongoing growth of our company as we continue to foster a diverse array of thoughtful and unique projects. We are fortunate to have her and are excited about what the future holds,” he added.
McGintee expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Dan Levy is an exceptional talent and one of the most innovative figures in the industry today. He has created one of the most cherished and iconic television shows in recent memory, and I am excited to build upon that success and enter this new phase with him.”
