The scene begins with a Buzz Lightyear toy awakening on a deserted island, surrounded by numerous other Buzzes, both inside and outside their packaging, following a mishap where their shipping container was lost at sea. These new models of Buzz include a digital display, giving them a fresh, sleek look.
The Buzz Lightyears start activating each other and search the island for an escape route, using their non-functional laser lights, only to realize their slim chances of escape. Gathering around a campfire, one Buzz looks up to see a star and utters, “Star… Command… Rendezvous Star Command.” The film’s logo then appears as the sequence concludes.
Additionally, it was announced that Conan O’Brien will voice a new character, Smarty Pants, a potty-training toy. This new character will appear alongside Lilypad, a new tech-savvy toy given to Bonnie, emphasizing the film’s theme of ‘Toy Meets Tech.’ Toy Story will also make a comeback in cinemas on September 12, and Buzz Lightyear will soar once again at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year.
