EA Has No Current Plans to Launch Battlefield 6 on Nintendo Switch 2

According to recent statements from EA, there is no intention to release the much-anticipated Battlefield 6 on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 platform.

Vince Zampella, a key figure behind the Battlefield series, conveyed to Eurogamer that EA is not looking to expand the game’s release to Nintendo’s latest console at this time.

When questioned about the decision, Zampella, who professes to be an avid fan of the Switch, explained that the development efforts are concentrated on the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox systems. He noted that these platforms traditionally host the majority of Battlefield’s player base.

First revealed in 2021, Battlefield 6 is set to debut on October 10. The game has garnered positive feedback from the community, a stark contrast to the tepid reception of Battlefield 2042. Interestingly, EA appeared less vigilant about controlling leaks of the game, suggesting confidence in the upcoming release.

Recent previews and leaks have given fans a glimpse into the game’s new battle royale mode, rumored to be set in a Californian landscape with players deploying via CH-47 Chinook helicopters. The encroaching boundary in this mode is reportedly composed of a mysterious substance known as “NXC.” Despite speculations, the game will not carry a price tag of $80.

The game promises a return to its roots with traditional classes like Assault, Support, Engineer, and Recon, and beloved gameplay modes such as the 64-player Conquest, aiming to recapture the classic excitement of the series.

Battlefield 6 is scheduled for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S on October 10.
