Ariana Grande Joins the Cast of “Meet the Parents 4”
Ariana Grande is set to continue her foray into acting with a key role in the upcoming film “Meet the Parents 4,” where she will star alongside notable actors Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the pop singer who has recently made a splash in the film industry with her role in Wicked, is now confirmed to join the latest sequel of the beloved comedy series. The production company, Universal, has planned to bring back the iconic Focker and Byrnes families for a reunion, with a release date set for November 25, 2026.
Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro are gearing up to revive their roles for the fourth time, continuing their comedic clash as in-laws. Blythe Danner and Teri Polo, who have been integral parts of the series since the first film, are also likely to return, although they are currently still in the negotiation stage, as per sources close to THR. While specific details of the plot are under wraps, one key storyline will reportedly revolve around the character played by Stiller, whose son decides to marry a seemingly incompatible and overbearing woman. Ariana Grande is set to portray this formidable fiancée.
Production Team and New Developments
Fans of the “Meet the Parents” franchise can look forward to John Hamburg, who has been a consistent creative force throughout the series, returning to write and direct this upcoming installment. Jay Roach, the director of the original trilogy, will contribute as a producer. Other notable producers include Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal through Tribeca Productions, Ben Stiller alongside John Lesher through Red Hour Films, and Hamburg through Particular Pictures. Universal’s Matt Reilly and Jacqueline Garell will supervise the project on behalf of the studio.
Ariana Grande, while primarily known for her successful music career, has increasingly made her mark in the film industry. She has released seven studio albums to date, with her latest being “Eternal Sunshine” in 2024. This album came just before her acclaimed performance in “Wicked,” which premiered last fall. Her portrayal in this musical adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz” earned rave reviews and an Oscar nomination for her role as Galinda/Glinda. Grande is set to continue this role in the upcoming sequel, Wicked: For Good, scheduled for release on November 21, 2025.
