The Exchange is a highly successful international conference based initiative which aims to connect the multi genre music industry sectors from India and the UK. Following a highly successful event in collaboration with AVA Festival back in 2016, The Exchange is all set for a return this March.
Slated to be held in Mumbai on March 28, the music conference returns for its fourth edition featuring music industry professionals from India and United Kingdom. The exciting concept brought to life as an outcome of United Kingdom’s Department for International Trade’s collaboration with Mumbai-based music promoter Submerge, this year’s edition will host the likes of Horus Music, AVA Festival founder Sarah McBriar, Beggars Group(home of UK-based international labels such 4AD, Matador, Rough Trade Records, XL Recordings and Young Turks), The Beatles Story(the world’s largest permanent exhibition purely devoted to the lives and times of ‘The Beatles’ in Liverpool) amongst many more yet to be announced.
Some of the key issues to be addressed at the conference include discussions on the current trends in production and sound technology in the UK and India, understanding music consumption patterns in tier II cities, recognizing the potential of online radio in India, why India will see a rise in boutique festivals and celebrating the legacy of vinyl, among other issues.
With a complete showcase which will consequently take place on March 31 at Khar Social, Mumbai.
