It’s no secret that international DJs absolutely love playing in India, with all the love that they’re showered with. Be it Axwell, who’s openly said “When I want to make money I’ll go to Vegas. When I want to party I’ll go to Miami. But when I want love, I go to India“, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren or anyone else, any DJ who’s toured India wants to come back for the rousing reception they get.
The DJs themselves make extra efforts to show their love for India and Indian fans, be it waving the Indian flag at their shows, or going on to play Indian music during their sets, which always makes for an incredible moment during the show. The same happened with marshmello, who just finished his India tour with Sunburn. The masked DJ/producer was quite stoked for his debut India tour (as evident from his tweets), which saw him play in New Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai from the 6th to 9th October.

Playing in Hyderabad and Mumbai on the 8th and 9th October respectively, right before Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, the ‘Alone‘ producer dropped some Bollywood during his set, much to the excitement of the crowd, who responded with loud cheers. Playing the iconic ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya‘ from Shah Rukh Khan‘s film ‘Dil Se‘, as well as ‘Kaala Chashma‘ from the Siddharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Baar Baar Dekho‘ to a massive roar from the crowd, the masked DJ/producer made sure that the show would be etched in the fan’s minds for quite some time to come.
A number of DJs have previously played Indian music during their sets, including deadmau5 during his Delhi show in 2014, Dyro at Sunburn Goa in 2015, Laidback Luke at Sensation Hyderabad in March earlier this year amongst others.
