That Skrillex is quite efficient with the guitar is common knowledge now and for those of us who love Sonny’s guitarist avatar, the live performance at the 58th Grammy Awards was quite a treat. In a show-stopping rendition of ‘Where Are Ü Now‘, between Jack Ü and Justin Bieber the dynamic live performance set the stage on fire.
Skrillex was on the electric guitar while Diplo alternated between playing the keyboard and beating big band drums, flanked by a live drummer and orchestra. The whole song was given a make-over to sound like an anthem of hope for those in the audience.
Ever since Jack Ü has brought together Skrillex and Diplo, they have been producing collaborations and breaking boundaries which have so far kept Electronic Music in the background. With their charged performance, they challenged the notion of those who claim that Electronic Music has little to do with impromptu, live performances.
