Above & Beyond have always been famous for their immensely emotional productions. The sheer amount of intensity, sincerity and heart that goes into writing each of their songs comes clear through each release. They’ve always been regarded as one of the best and most emotional electronic music producers till date.

Recently they had even released their eagerly awaited acoustic album, which features a select few of their all time greatest productions, stripped down and presented with a full blown orchestra, of which they were a part. Many have hailed the album as one of the most touching albums to date. We at The Bangin Beats get shivers down our spine every single time we listen to any of the songs off that album.

One of our favourites off that album is definitely their collaboration with the ethereal songstress, Ms. Zoe Johnston, on “Love is Not Enough“. Now for this sublimely poignant and stirring piece of music to be remixed, would definitely raise our curiosity, as this is one of those songs that you just wouldn’t bear being tarnished, least of all, re-imagined to a vastly different genre so far from the original.

So when we found out that LA based trap producer-duo Slander, had re-done the entire composition to a trap remix, we were dying to find out how it turned out. And boy, were we unexpectedly blown away.

Taking the acoustic version, they’ve added a subtle 808 beat to the melodic intro, not making any drastic changes to the original piece, till it gets to the bridge. That’s when it picks up to give listeners amazingly euphoric chord play at an immensely emotive drop that hinges on chopped up samples of Zoe Johnston’s amazing vocals.  They’ve completely captured the very essence of all the emotion put into the original and have re-invented it into a track that whilst having its own unique identity, still manages to do justice to Above & Beyond’s fabulous original.

If you ever thought Trap music wasn’t capable of giving you chills, shivers or butterflies. This is one production to prove you wrong.

This song started with an emotion. After being inspired by Above & Beyond’s recent acoustic album we felt compelled to create this track. The idea started as a completely laid back chill edit, but as you will hear it grew into something much much bigger than that. We really are trying to step into new territory with this sound and hope you guys feel the positive emotion we are trying to convey. This is going to be the last song in our live sets for the next year.
