The Chainsmokers Clarify Adventure Club’s Comments After They Troll The Internet!

A couple of days ago, Canadian duo, Adventure Club, sent the internet into a tizzy with their comments on The Chainsmokers and their smash hit ‘#Selfie“. Known for their jocularity and hilarious internet trolls, the Adventure Club may have rubbed a few the wrong way when in their interview with a news magazine, they bluntly stated their disappointment with the dynamic duo who’ve had a mercurial rise to superstardom and fame. Here’s what they had to say in their interview:

Well they kinda got distant with their whole new “#SELFIE” fame.

They got that “#SELFIE” money, and as soon as they got that “#SELFIE” money they were too cool for us – but we were friends with them since day one.

Yeah, he’s saying kinda what happened, but the reverse situation of it, ’cause what happened was we wrote “#SELFIE,” and we thought it was, like, too cheesy to release as Adventure Club, so we gave it to them. And then all of the sales and all of that actually comes into our pockets, so we’ve been making a lot of money off of them and there’s a little bit of resentment there.

Now, as things do, this comment, that was intended to be taken in good faith, escalated out of hand, and pretty soon almost every Chainsmokers fan lined up against Adventure Club defending their icons. Music blogs and journos furiously circulated around the interview till Adventure Club was forced to clarify their stand via Twitter.

Well, now it turns out that The Chainsmoker‘s have replied as well, and clarified their stand on  this issue. Stating that the relationship with the Canadian duo involves plenty of teasing and fun, they insisted that the comments were indeed a joke and not to be taken too seriously. We’re glad this one was sorted out amicably!

Adventure club and us have a very good relationship and we are often taking the piss of one another as is the case here. We had a good laugh about this until other sites and ppl didn’t realize it was a joke. We take our creative integrity very very seriously. Everything we release is 100% created by us, The Chainsmokers and this includes #Selfie. We take such accusations very seriously as we work extremely hard on our music.
