The Chainsmokers shot to fame with their amazing talents in terms of the indie/progressive sound they add to remixes. A few months ago, they reached super-stardom with their smash hit, #Selfie, a tongue-in-cheek, majorly sarcastic tribute to the (somewhat annoying) phenomena of taking your own photograph before doing almost every single thing.  After that, there was literally no looking back for Alex Pall and Drew Taggart.

Now they’ve unveiled a slightly less intense, but alot more meaningful production, called Kanye that is a tribute of sorts to infamous rapper, Kanye West. Though not so a much a direct reference to the rap superstar, the track is more of an inspirational one appealing to listeners to be themselves and all that they can be.

The track in itself, is a truly endearing production, and Siren’s vocals just emphasize the intention with which track was produced. Although it’s primarily progressive production, it has hints of trap and certain tinge of bounce elements on the song.

They had this to say about the track,

It’s about taking what Kanye idealistically represents and turning his name into an adjective. This song is about doing you, living life how you want to live it and not giving a fuck what anyone else thinks. Its about owning your shit and being happy with your life, no matter the circumstances, rich or poor, skinny or fat, young or old its about exuding confidence… and that’s what appeals to us so much about this song.

In addition, they’ve made a fun quiz to see what your #BeLike score is, to see how bothered you really are about what other people think? You can check the quiz, here.

You can buy the track off iTunes, here.
