Rukes goes from photography to production; Tries his hand at music with “Monsoon”

Rukes

Usually when you see his name around, it’s due to his flair for photography. Well-known music photographer, Rukes has taken a vast number of photos of some of the worlds most famous DJ’s. However, this time around it seems that he aims to be the one being photographed with his first shot at an original production.

Now, to begin, did you know that Rukes was producing? Well, neither did many other people. Surprising many of us fans, the ace lensman has tried his hand at reinventing himself as DJ Rukes, with the teaser of his track, “Monsoon” which plays out as one built for the festival circuit where he’s already spent so much time as a photographer.

As a fan of dance music and someone who in all probability has attended at least one concert or festival, could you imagine someone doing photography, playing a set and doing interviews all in the same day? Well all we can say for now is that, festival promoters, booking agents and fans better get set; DJ Rukes has arrived!

If the teaser of “Monsoon” is an indicator of the future, the dance music world is about to see another odd combination of a skill-set, ‘photographer/producer’. Already in high demand for his skills behind the camera and now for his foray into production we may just see 2014 become Rukes’ busiest year ever.
