After months of photographing Zedd in action, Drew “Rukes” Ressler found his muse. A bromance began to brew between the legendary EDM photographer and the DJ while the latter worked on Stay the Night and Divergent’s title song Find You, and social media was instrumental in documenting it. Like the flirt that he is, Zedd has teasingly called the professional ‘#1 Hobby Photographer’, and Rukes’ instagram profile has become a treasure trove of photos and videos of his boyfriend Zedd.
However, rumor has it that during those months, Rukes wasn’t just behind the camera, but behind the console as well. The man who silently shares the stage with the world’s premiere DJs has taken the term ‘access all areas’ to another level, with the news that he features on Zedd’s untitled upcoming track. Working so closely with Zedd piqued his interest in a long-forgotten passion, as he divulges, “I DJed at frat parties when I was in college, but I never really created something of my own … Spending all that time in the studio, Anton (Zedd) let me mess around the knobs and synths, and our stuff actually sounded good.” However, we can’t say we’re that shocked, given DJ Rukes’ shot at music production earlier this year.
The revelation has kept us guessing, what next? A photo album tour? Matching plaid shirts?
