For many of us ‘happiness’ is probably what you feel when you’re listening to a new tune from Eric Prydz. As a producer Prydz’s prowess has left us stunned each time he’s brought something to the table and his fidelity as a producer is nothing short of admirable. His talent is distinctly visible in all his aliases and has positioned Prydz as one of the most renowned artists in the industry.
The leading producer/DJ now returns with a brand new Pryda track titled, “Lycka” on his imprint Pryda Recordings, which interestingly as he points out, means happiness is Swedish. The track was featured as Zane Lowe‘s ‘Hottest Record of the Week’ on his show on BBC Radio 1 just yesterday and has got a number of fans already excited as they await its release.
Upon premiering the track, Lowe also went on to take the opportunity to catch up with Prydz about the new single. Speaking about the track Prydz said that, “‘Lycka’ started out as the project name, but it just sort of stuck”.
We for one are surely glad it did because Pryda simply filled the track up to its brim with happiness and it is noticeable throughout the track. The big synths, smooth rhythms, and feel-good melodies weaved together intricately give the track a positive vibe unlike the superstars previous Pryda release “Power Drive” which was evidently dark and heavy.
As Eric points out in his interview with Zane Lowe. “It was very dark and on the other side of the spectrum. But that is the good thing about having your own label and also with Pryda because I can experiment and do whatever I want. I don’t have any major labels breathing down my neck telling me you need to do this, you need to do that. I can do what I want”.
As of now, there is no clear news on the release date however, it could be expected to be out very soon. Stay tuned to http://thebanginbeats.com for more information!
