Insomniac Events CEO, Pasquale Rotella is set to return to court on July 29th, shortly after a ruling on July 12th which threw out the charges that he and another promoter had been involved in a kickback scheme with officials from the Los Angeles Coliseum, the former site of the spearhead Electric Daisy Carnival.
Reports claim that the new and separate charges are that, “he diverted $2.5 million in funds from the LA Coliseum into the pockets of city officials to stage Electric Daisy Carnival there before its move to Vegas in 2011″.
If he is to be found guilty of these charges, he faces fourteen years in prison. As far as plans for EDC Las Vegas 2014 go, a Las Vegas Motor Speedway official is said to have commented saying that, “there’s no reason the event wouldn’t go on, no matter what happens. Plans for 2014 are set to go forward either way”.
