The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is a performing arts festival that takes place near Pilton, Somerset, England, best known for its contemporary music, but also for dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret and other arts.
Leading pop and rock artists have appeared as headline acts with thousands of others appearing on smaller stages and performance areas. The festival has also spawned films and albums and is reported on extensively on television and in newspapers. And in recent years, they’ve added stages for alternative electronic and bass heavy acts. Greats like Chase & Status, Major Lazer, Simian Mobile Disco, Boyz Noise, Dogblood, Maya Jane Coles and so many more are performing this year.
The size and nature of the festival, held over three or four days in the open air, with performers, crew and paying festival goers staying in tents, caravans and motorhomes, has meant that the weather is significant.
Full set times across all Glastonbury stages have been released via an update on the festival’s official app. Life just got a little bit easier for this year’s punters, as smartphone users can create their own unique schedule via the My Planner option and work out any clashes that inevitably arise.

Festival-goers can now use the planner function to build a personalised Glastonbury schedule. A social sharing function has also been added, allowing fans to share their plans and see which of their Facebook friends are heading to Worthy Farm.
Samples of tracks from this year’s performers are now available through the app, which can be downloaded for Apple iOS and Android devices.
The BBC’s live streams from Glastonbury can also be played through the app during the festival weekend. The corporation has promised over 250 hours of live coverage and streaming.
