After the endless teasing and building just-the-right amount of anticipation in his sold-out shows and festival appearances, Alesso has finally dropped his electro-driven progressive house production, Tear The Roof Up; bringing back to the spotlight the style that steadily catches the distinctive Alesso stride. A highlight in his main stage set at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas last month, the track is a pure slice of sonic bliss, radiantly built from a rigidly coiled intro of rebellious beats bopped around by belligerent synths throughout the seven minute time span.
World premiered on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show and getting the Future Exclusive stamp from the enormously influential British tastemaker, Tear The Roof Up marks the beginning of Alesso’s return on the forefront of global dance music. “I wanted to make a massive song that would literally make people want to tear off the roof,” Alesso says in a statement.
Lowe, meanwhile, claimed the song as “monstrous” in his Tuesday’s broadcast. “I didn’t make it to Coachella this year but I was…streaming it like so many millions of people from around the world… I clicked on Alesso’s set and he started his set with this song. It was the most ridiculous, most unifying response from about 20,000 people streaming out of this huge aircraft hanger whilst the sun was beaming down on his face and I was like ‘This is what songs like this are designed to do’.”
Along with the full length and high quality track, the Grammy nominated Swedish producer also proclaimed that he would be starting a label imprint with an ambush of fresh material over signing a contract with Def Jam Recordings, making him the second DJ to sign with them subsequent to Afrojack‘s full-length debut Forget The World in May.
Tear The Roof Up will be released soon. Until then, listen to the preview below.
