With its flurry of driving drums and uplifting, anthemic synths Alesso’s breakout track “Years” featuring Matthew Koma provided the perfect soundtrack to the summer, igniting festivals all over the world and now following its huge success the incredible track has been giving a new edge this week with a remix from Hard Rock Sofa.
Lifting the shimmering piano melodies and optimistic swoon of Koma’s lyrics from the original, the duo inject it with some serious dance floor muscle. Bringing their throttling sound to the track, they add big drums, addictive synths riffs and a grinding bassline to make an unstoppable club track. The Russian remix masters swap synths for scales, building a completely new progressive house sound before inserting the original’s infamous piano part nearly three minutes into this superb remix.
With this stellar remix of the now anthemic track, Hard Rock Sofa exceed the level of talent which dance music fans across the planet now associate with their name. A hectic 2012 saw them release a slew of new music on Spinnin’ Records, Wall Recordings and Axtone Records, and their remix of ‘Years’ ensures that they are continuing that momentum through into 2013.
The superb remix is out now on Sebastian Ingrosso‘s imprint Refune Records. Get it now!
