Artist Of The Month – Arty (February 2013)

Hailing from Russia it was back in 2009 when, Arty released his first production at the age of 19. His EP ‘Vanilla Sky’ appeared on the label Enhanced Progressive and brought him to the attention of several DJs. One of his first singles ‘Bliss’ appeared on tracklisting of A State Of Trance with Armin van Buuren in early 2010 and his breakthrough came later that year when Above & Beyond signed him on their label Anjunabeats. They featured his singles ‘Rush’ and ‘The Wonder’ in their club sets and on their radio show Trance Around the World.

In autumn 2010 Arty made his debut in the DJ Mag Top 100 poll as #78 in the world while being listed by many peers in the same centurion as the breakthrough artist of the year, which was subsequently followed by nomination for Best Breakthrough DJ at the 2011 IDMA awards.

Arty said in an interview in summer 2010, “I think that your goals must be difficult to achieve; reaching such goals is the most exciting thing that encourages me to develop as an artist”, and with so much achieved so far in his fledgling career with over 30 releases on labels from Armada to Black Hole, topping Beatport charts and being supported on countless radio shows by other top artists this hard-working attitude indicates only more to come and boy did it!

In 2011 he released ‘Zara’, his third single on the Anjunabeats label and on July 4th, 2011, Arty released his massive, big-room house anthem “Around the World” (which is still a personal favourite) on Anjunabeats following unprecedented support across the board from Axwell, Chuckie, Hardwell, Tiesto, Robbie Rivera, Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery and was played by an extended list of the biggest names in electronic music at unarguably the biggest events of the year including Swedish House Mafia’s performance on the main stage of the record-breaking Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas in June 2011.

Having been tipped as one to watch in 2011 by peers and tastemakers across the industry he was predicted by the likes of MTV and countlessly many more to be one of the biggest artists in the coming year. Also, climbing over 50 places in the DJ Mag Poll 2011 to number 25 was a testament to his energetic performances. Truly 2011, turned out to be a magical year for Arty.

In June 2012, ARTY announced the beginning of a new partnership with Stateside radio giant Sirius XM. Joining the elite ranks of DJs to have hosted exclusive shows on the network, ARTY’s ‘Together We Are’ beams directly into the ears of the entire world.

In addition, ‘Open Space’, released on Anjunabeats in June and scored huge radio play and an overwhelming tidal wave of support from the likes of David Guetta, Axwell, Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Hardwell, Thomas Gold,  Ferry Corsten, Kaskade and more. As ARTY’s profile continues to grow, as more and more tune in to his sound, the only question is how far and how high this young talented artist can go.

As is popularly said, “No Arty No Party”!

Talking about his work, Arty’s talent can well be established by the number of release which went on to make it to the Beatport charts and other music charts. Some of the biggest releases by Arty are;

#Arty – Around The World (Original Mix)

#Ferry Corsten – Punk (Arty Rock-N-Rolla Mix)

#Arty, Nadia Ali & BT – Must Be The Love (Original Mix)

Arty’s latest upcoming release, “Arty feat. Chris James – Together We Are” also got recently previewed! Don’t miss it!
