Tom Cruise returns to the big screen with more exhilarating stunts in the latest trailer for “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” which is set to premiere on May 23.

“Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” might mark the final appearance of Cruise as the iconic IMF agent Ethan Hunt. This film serves as a continuation and conclusion of the storyline introduced in “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” from 2023, where Ethan Hunt battles to prevent a dangerous AI system known as The Entity from causing global chaos and landing in malicious hands.
Star-Studded Cast
Alongside Cruise, the film stars familiar faces such as Simon Pegg returning as Benji Dunn, Ving Rhames as Luther Strickell, Vanessa Kirby reprising her role as Alanna Mitsopolis, and Hayley Atwell as Grace. Villainous turns are expected from Esai Morales playing Gabriel, with Shea Wigham as Jasper Briggs, Greg Tarzan Davis as Degas, and Pom Klementieff as the assassin Paris. In an interview with Empire magazine, Cruise discussed the challenges of performing high-speed aerial stunts, explaining how he had to learn special breathing techniques to cope with the high velocities. “When you stick your face out of an airplane flying over 120 to 130 miles per hour, you’re not getting much oxygen,” Cruise said. He revealed that the physical demands were so intense that he occasionally passed out and had difficulty returning to the cockpit.
