Alesso & Dirty South – City Of Dreams (Jacques Lu Cont Remix)

Alesso & Dirty South – City Of Dreams (Jacques Lu Cont Remix)

One of the biggest collaborations of house music to hit the electronic world, Dirty South and Alesso had collaborated to produce a genius of a tune not too long ago. Titled City Of Dreams, this track went viral all around the world, and it naturally became a festival anthem and a club hit. When a track usually becomes that huge, creative minds are put to use and remixes are soon to follow. A rising upcoming producer called Jacques Lu Cont has done the same, creating a hypnotizing melodic take on this mammoth tune. Ruben Haze’s vocals are retained, and this Brit artist does well to synchronize a melodious progression along with it. First heard on Dirty South’s Essential Mix, it’s great to hear a smooth, laid back vibe to this brainchild of a track, much unlike Showtek‘s hard-hitting electro version. Dirty South & Alesso ft. Ruben Haze – City Of Dreams (Official Music Video)

Finally it is here! The official music video for ‘City of Dreams’ by Dirty South & Alesso featuring Ruben Haze. The music video released exclusively on VEVO features a behind the scenes look at the making of the track.

The popular single demonstrates the breadth and caliber of Dragan Roganović (Dirty South) and Alessandro Lindblad’s (Alesso) talents, not just as producers and DJs but also as songwriters and musicians, with Dirty South himself being one half of the Ruben Haze project, a band duo with Rudy whose vocals are featured on the track.

Following the release of Dirty South’s stunning debut album ‘Speed of Life’ earlier this year and the recent Beatport topping success of Alesso’s remix of OneRepublic’s ‘If I Lose Myself’, the two magnificent talents also announced a couple of new remixes of their 2012 smash hit from Showtek and Jacques Lu Cont, alongside a brand new video.

The Showtek remix has been released last week, and the Jacques Lu Cont remix will go out as part of a bundle set for release on 9th July.

Speaking about the video and the remixes, Dirty South said, “Collaborating with Rudy under the alias ‘Ruben Haze’ to write, produce and record the original ‘City of Dreams’ was a very invigorating special side project”.  The take on the track that Alesso and I did made it an even more exceptional single to me. And it’s exciting to now see Showtek’s and Jacques Lu Cont’s takes on it”.

Dirty South & Alesso – City of Dreams (Showtek Remix)

‘City of Dreams’ is one of Dirty South and Alesso’s most well-known progressive house anthems and now, Showtek release their electro rendition of the same. While not necessarily one of their usual hardstyle bangers, Showtek’s remix of ‘City of Dreams’ follows their recent trend of exploration into progressive and electro house territory. In this remix, Showtek brilliantly uses the original melody in their own way over the smooth vocals from Ruben Haze and infuses it with their signature electro sounds at the drop turning it into a mega-festival banger. Out now on Beatport via the Astralwerks label. Listen to it below -

Dirty South & Alesso – City Of Dreams (Jacques Lu Cont Remix) [Preview]

Jaques-Lu-Cont

Dirty South played a high-quality preview of Jacques Lu Cont’s much-anticipated remix of Dirty South and Alesso’s ‘City Of Dreams’ on his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix set. Stuart Price delivers a fabulous rework. A notch above his previous mixes for “Mr. Brightside” and “Lose Control”. With a collection of mesmerising melodies, Price utilises Rudy’s touching vocals without so much as a hint of misplaced emotion.

ALESSO & DIRTY SOUTH FEAT RUBEN HAZE – CITY OF DREAMS

After much speculation, Alesso’s brand new beat alongside Dirty South, called ‘City of Dreams’ is out now! Definitely a club banger, this ones going down as one of the best releases of 2012. While the Swede’s banging track ‘Years’ is already making waves on beatport charts, Alessandro Lindblad takes another shot at vocal Dance supremacy for the year.

First premiered by both at Creamfields Australia, this cross-nation beat looks to set the bar of chart savvy peak timers to an all time high alongside renowned top liner Rudy. With anthemic instrumental builds and an angelic vocal lead at ready, the conversion of these two industry heavyweights sees a firm display of rigid synth work and powerful beats match the beautiful ascending melodies that make ‘City of Dreams’ an instantly infectious outing.
