Sonny Moore, better known as OWSLA label boss and producer Skrillex, has ranked as the 42nd best live act right now.
Landing on the rankings ahead of Lady Gaga, Green Day and Tool, the LA based artist is one of the very few electronic influenced artist present on the list.
Aside from Sigur Ros (#47) and Nine Inch Nails (#17), the list is mainly comprised of Indie Rock and Pop Rock artists such as Madonna and Mumford & Sons.
If anyone was curious, this is what Rolling Stone used as a requirement for artists to be eligible for this list: “To be eligible for the list, a performer must have toured within the last five years and not announced their retirement”.
In addition to the honorable ranking’s achievement, Skrillex also received further praise from legendary rock band, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, who said: “When I saw him it was 30,000 kids going fucking apeshit to this orgasm of lights and sound and strobes. I’ve never seen anything so completely over-the-top. It felt like it was on a spaceship”.
This definitely marks another achievement in the career of the electronic music stalwart and we look forward to many more. Hit past the break for the entire list now!
