Ty Segall has unveiled the new charity compilation album L.A. Recovers, aimed at supporting wildfire relief efforts in California. This exclusive vinyl release includes never-before-heard cover tracks by artists such as Segall himself, Shannon & the Clams, No Age, King Tuff, White Fence, Mikal Cronin, Meatbodies, Shannon Lay, among others. Pre-orders for the album are now open, with all proceeds being donated to One Voice LA – Fire Relief Fund and the California Black Freedom Fund – Black LA Relief & Recovery Fund.
“The concept of creating a compilation album evolved into a project where friends would cover each other’s songs, and it seemed like a great way to contribute to the wildfire relief efforts in L.A.,” Segall said. He emphasized that it was crucial for all participants to have a creative connection to Los Angeles, noting, “It’s been a very enjoyable experience for everyone to play around with each other’s work!”
L.A. Recovers is produced by Classic Master Sound Recordings, a DIY label founded in 2021 by Ty and Denée Segall. The album will have a single vinyl pressing. The process of deciding who would cover whom was done by drawing names from a hat, although each artist had the freedom to choose which song they wanted to cover.
In other news, Ty Segall is set to release a new album titled Possession on May 30. This upcoming release is featured in the article “The 50 Most Anticipated Albums of Spring 2025.”
Here is the tracklist for L.A. Recovers:
